My first sewing project on my new machine!!

My dear friend Alexa is having a Birthday tomorrow and is moving soon back to Cincinnati where she is from. I was trying to think of the perfect gift for her. Her two favorite loves are Pabst Blue Ribbon beer and purses. So I decided to combine them. I bought the shirt on eBay. It arrived last night and I soon got to work! Here are some pictures of the finished product. Hope you(and she) enjoy them!

2009= the year of me

My New Years resolution is to spend this year on me. I have decided that this year I am going to try new adventures, find new hobbies and spend the year on myself. My best friend here is joining Weight Watchers and wants me to be her support, so I am going to join too. I am going to use this year to find a way to exercise that I actually ENJOY versus seeming like exercise. I am not a runner or treadmill fan. Asthma and big boobs=not liking to run! So...I am going to explore my options. When my Grandmother passed away last February she willed her AMAZING high tech sewing;embroidery machine to me.I just got it last week and I am looking forward to using it. I know how to sew but I am going to explore the world of embroidery. I have never been a reader, but I am going to make a point to read this year. Even if it's a page a book per night. I survived high school and college on cliff's notes and those that know me know I am ADD, but I want to enjoy reading.
I love to cook and if I can brag for a minute I am a damn good one! he he but this year I am going to branch out in my cooking styles and create dishes I would have never made before. I am even going to branch into some seafood which I have not been a fan of before.

Anyway, I guess this blog is getting long so I will run. Basically I am saying that somewhere along the way in trying to please everyone else I forgot about myself. NOT THIS YEAR!! I am going to live for me and do things I love.

Bring on the Turkey!!

Since I am the boss I let my self off at 10:30 this morning and I am LOVING my day off! I am baking cheesecakes and an apple pie. I am just being lazy and enjoying the peace!:0) Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy and safe Thanksgiving. Hope you all enjoy spending time with family and friends.

Sleeping...a lot

Joe is home and it's been ok. I say ok because you ladies know what I mean... You get set in your ways and your own routine, and then they come home. It throws everything off. :0) He is on a mission to just play XBOX until school starts in Jan. I would complain...but he's been doing house work too!
I have been sleeping A LOT. I mean a whole lot. Most nights 9pm is LATE for me going to bed. I am the boss at my job and I never realized how much energy goes into being a boss. Started to question my sleepiness....but then my aunt flow came...so...not THAT!!! I have been working many 6:45am to 6:00pm days. I like most parts of my job. Had to fire someone today. That part is not fun.:0(
Anyway, it's 10:00 pm and I cannot keep my eyes open, so off to bed I go!:0)
That is if I can sleep over the ROCK BAND coming from the living room.

Almost Over!

Well Joe is officially released on Thursday. I cannot believe that 6 months is finally done. Clear back in May this day seemed SO FAR away! He is home on a 4 day weekend. He leaves Tuesday and then comes home for good 2 days later. Weird I know...you would have thought they could have just let him stay home.
I got my stitches out last week. I tend to still favor that hand and not use it unless I have to. I guess I am still worried about breaking open that new skin. It seems to be healing nice and no infection, which I am happy about.
I got a new job and new title,but don't have time to tackle that today. Have to get ready for a Birthday Party.

WARNINIG...If grossed out easily DO NOT read BLOG!!

Where have I been lately?? Well I have been struggling to eat, shower,and dress....Why you ask?? Because I have 8 stitches in my hand! Let me explain...
Saturday morning finishing up a wedding cake. I am leveling the cakes. This means cutting the tops off so that they are level. At about noon I am working on a layer when I accidentally slice my hand instead of the cake. It bled like crazy...but I knew I HAD to finish the cake. So...lots of band aids...and a latex glove...and back to the cakes. Hour later...repeat..new band aid and glove...and so on and so on(for a total of 8 hours).
Finished the cake drove it an hour to home town. My parents came to help put it together. We finish and dad says "OK let me see it". So I take off the glove, and it's STILL bleeding(it's been 9 hours bleeding now). So we went to the minor emergency clinic. After cleaning it all up they decide I need stitches. I got 8 stitches in my hand. OUCH it hurts.
So.....typing is very difficult and driving...so I have been doing as little as possible til the stitches come out. One last thought...ever try putting on a bra one handed??? Yeah, it SUCKS!!!! Here is a picture of my hand.

Sears new clothing line

For those of you who have not heard Sears has teamed up with the Army to come out with some vintage style Army clothes.(Think WW2 style). The money is going to help with some type of military family something.....not too sure! Anyway, they started with the BIG RED ONE.
I spent some serious $$$, but Joe got some cool things. They came in the mail today and they look great! I am just ready for him to be home to wear them!
They are having a 40% off sale to kick it off, BUT only until tomorrow!! YIKES! So....go on the sears website and type in 1st infantry division....and all the clothes will come up.

In honor of a friend

Hey guys-
I am writing you to ask a favor. As many of you know Joe's best friend SSG Garth Sizemore died almost 2 years ago(Oct. 17th) in Iraq. His wife Lena is running in the 33rd Annual Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C. She is asking for donations for the TAPS organization . The money that is donated will flow directly into TAPS programming such as a 24 hour crisis and information hotline, peer support, Survivor Seminars and Good Grief Camps for both adults and children.

I also ask that you keep Lena in your thoughts and prayers. As the anniversary draws closer she is going to have some hard days ahead. She si still having a really hard time dealing with his passing.

Happy Birthday Baby!

Today is my hubby's 27th Birthday! I was looking for a picture of us from his birthday the year we met, but I cannot find one. So....this one from 2 months before his birthday will have to do! This is us on July 1st 2000.

AAAAHHHHHHH nothing better!

This last week was an AWESOME week! I got to go spend about 4 precious hours with the hubby and then yesterday my old Germany friend Jen came to visit! I got to see her 2 little ones. It was a BLAST. We just talked and talked and caught up on old times. It was perfect. Two great events in one week. YAY ME!!

This week..... no looking so good! Been waiting since 8am on the electrician to come look at the stove that shocked me AND as Jen was leaving I noticed something ran out of my car all over the driveway. YAY...more trips to the mechanic....

Quick Trip

So Joe called me today and needs some cold weather gear. They are going to the field and it gets about mid 40s at night right now. He said he was going to buy all new stuff, but I said NO. NOT when I have an attick full of that crap and don't want him to buy more. So...tomorrow when I get off work(1pm) I am driving 2 and 1/2 hours to Lawton to see him and deliver the goods. THEN turn around and come back home because I work at 7am on Friday morning. YEAH ME!!!! But atleast I get to see my hubby!:0)

Maybe I am crazy.....

OK so after test after test the doctors just say it's nothing and I am fine. My parents even my husband say it's nothing.... Actually last week I was in the room at the doctors office waiting on the doctor when I overheard the nurse outside the door talking about me. The nurse was talking to a intern. She said "have you met her yet"?? He said "no". Then she replied "shes' all kinds of crazy". GREAT NOW EVERYONE THINKS I AM CRAZY. My parents say it's stress. Joe says it's all in my head....yada yada yada.
So..... I have resolved to tell myself NOTHING is wrong and maybe if I stop worrying it will all just go away.
So.... I sleep more, drink a little more and take more bubble baths to relax and tell myself I am "fine".
I started school on the 18Th of August. It's OK. My science teacher is EXTREMELY boring and my math teacher is a "NOT NICE WORD". I missed a day of class last week because I got really dizzy at work and they took me to the doctor. We had a review that day, so I missed it. When I went to talk to her she said" It's not my fault you were gone, you can just take the zero".
GREAT!!! What a way to start this semester off right.

I have 2 new jobs. I told the daycare where they could stick it. They were doing too many things that I did not agree with and I was taking care of other people's children...so I quit.
I work early in the morning at a dry cleaners. I am just customer service. Fairly easy job. Then my other job is working for OSU. My official title is "First Aid Responder". I essentially work all home football and basketball games and we administer First Aid/ CPR to people in the stands if they need it. I get paid to watch sporting events...basically!

What else...I am on the downward side of Joe coming home. Slated for 13 November...we'll see though...right?!


That's about all from me. HOPING to see a really close Army friend at the end of this month....should be fun!
Gotta go get ready...going to see The Women tonight at the theatre.

Best Birthday Present...

Yes, today was my 28th Birthday. I had a BLAST and will tell all about it later! I have to get to bed quick so I wanted to share the BEST part about my day. Joe had CQ today. He was talkin to me on the phone but then started yelling at soldiers. He called for a formation. They lined up and then he told them that their duty for the evening was to sing Happy Birthday to his wife into the phone. He counted to 3 and about 40 soldiers started singin at the top of their lungs.. I was crying I was laughing so hard! It was the SWEETEST thing!:0) Boy do I live that man!
Just had to share.....to bed I go...what a great day it was!

WOW...it's been a month....

So...it's been OVER a month and they STILL do not know what is wrong with me! I have been back to the doc to look at this and that ans STILL nothing! I go on Tuesday to draw blood to check for celiac disease( it's where you body cannot process wheat or glutin)......So.....we will see.. still stomach cramps and still loose stools( I know...like you wanted to know that...but your all moms!)

I quit my job at the daycare. VERY poorly managed and the owner talked about me to my back at a restaurant where I was eating with my friends.....
I work at a dry cleaners at the front desk....might have another one through the college too...we will see.
I start school the 18Th and my 28Th Birthday is Sunday.(17Th)

UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Ok, so no EColi or salmonella....they think now that it is my gallbladder. I go on Friday for an ultrasound and some fluid test thing. The doc says if there is even one gal stone out it comes......So......still in pain and now have to wait to find out anything. I think now is the time that God chose to teach me about patience.
