So as I have recently posted I am going back to school. I was awarded a scholarship for a lot of my school. Since we are pretty much a single income(the reserves money is a joke). I applied for financial aid. They said that I we made too much last year. YES, last year we probably did....BUT that is not our current situation. I only make at best a 1,000 a month. Let's just say that I am 26 and my parents have to help pay my bills. BUT... the good ol federal government still thinks that an income of 13,000 is TOO MUCH MONEY!!! They said that if I were single OR had kids then I would qualify. WHAT????? I cannot even afford school. How the heck do you think I could pay for a baby? PLUS......we are NOT READY to be parents.UUUHHHHH
So basically if I were a single mom with 3 kids living on "the system" you would give me money. What is wrong with the system? We need money too! Yes Joe get a G.I Bill...but there is not any money out there for me. .There needs to be money available TO ANYONE who wants to further their education.
Just getting out some frustration!

Financial aid is frustrating. D's parents never qualified because they were "too wealthy". They had 8 kids to put through college and he is a farmer. His actual income was low enough to qualify, but since he owned his farm, he was "rich on paper". I guess they expected him to sell his land and house to pay for college! How much sense does that make? Then they'd be unemployed, homeless, and need more help!
