Labor Day

So since I had the day off I did something that I have been meaning to do since I moved in. Paint and decorate my master bathroom. We have 2 full baths in the house so I am the only one that uses this bathroom. Joe and guests use the other one. I decided in between my 8 loads of laundry I had to do today that I would work on this as well. (Did she just say 8 loads of laundry??? YES....I HATE laundry!)
So the first is a before picture. I got the ladder in there and then decided I wanted to take a picture. Notice in the first picture the HORRIBLE 70's style counter top.
The second picture is the finished product. Notice anything different? I covered the counter top in contact paper. I KNOW I KNOW some reading this might think how ghetto....BUT when your house is decorated in a style that is before you were born...ANYTHING(even contact paper) is an improvement!:0) Heidi if you read this...remember when you pic your countertops and such"Will I like this in 10 years"?!

Well it's off to bed for me.....worked too hard today.

Have a great week to all!!!!

You worked hard, but I think the finished product is great. Good for you!

I covered my cabinets in Vilseck with white contact paper! I hated the dark, dreary, windowless kitchen so I did this to brighten it up. It was brighter, but not quite what I was going for. I left it anyway and enjoyed being able to see what food I was cooking! Great job on the bathroom!

Contact paper is a great way to cover old outdated counter tops. Funny that I am reading this today because tomorrow is the day to pick stuff for the kitchen . . . of course I probably will just smile and giggle when the builder ask what I want and simply say, "more time!" It usually works . . . it took me months to decide on brick and basically just told the lady at the brick yard to decide for me. I may regret that once it arrives.

Glad to hear school is going okay . . . do you feel old in your classes? I love seeing photos! Good Luck.
